Zahid Howladar

Head of Delivery, One Million Mentors (1MM)

In recent years since completing an MBA in 2010, Zahid keenly engages in community & social impact initiatives, and startups. This follows from a professional background starting with experience and development across Cap Gemini E&Y, Morgan Stanley, and J.P. Morgan.

Zahid first co-managed the Dubai arm of an inaugural global CSR initiative, which today is known as The Hult Prize and partnered with the Clinton Global Initiative. In parallel, where Hult IBS was a fledgling business school at the time, Zahid was Founder and Global Lead of its largest student initiative “Get Plugged In” which for 5 years independently grew from serving 100s, to 3,000+ across 5 international cities. Just one of its many unique achievements is the raising of what remains a community school-record $35,000 for charity. Zahid was then a Business Development Consultant for a startup working closely with Islamic charities globally to explore feasibility of providing Halal MREs in crisis zones, with successful projects implemented in Bangladesh, Rohingya, Syria, and Yemen.

Today, Zahid who was once a mentor for inner city school children during his university days, is the national Head of Delivery at One Million Mentors (1MM). Since piloting in just 2017, 1MM has adapted to COVID’s challenges and to-date has trained over 2,000 mentors, partnered with the likes of KPMG, Agilitas PE, ABInBev, and Shearman & Sterling, while welcoming individual volunteering interest from across the country, and made over over 2,500 mentoring connections for young people aged 14-25yrs - Gen Z.
