Steve Thompson

Steve Thompson is the Head of Digital at the University of Sheffield, responsible for social media and digital marketing and communications.

He and his team are behind the re-launched University wide campaign #WeAreInternational which aims to ensure International students and staff are welcome in the UK post Brexit, as well as trying out new ways to communicate with prospective students.

The University of Sheffield COP 21 communications campaign won the 2016 CASE European District Circle of Excellence award for Best Practices in Communications and Marketing.

Whilst at eBay Enterprise he led the implementation of the digital communications for the Times Newspaper paywall launch and delivered global email marketing communications for British Airways.
