Alexa Charnley works as the Business & Product Development Specialist for Cancer Research UK’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign. Alexa worked in partnership with Google to create and deliver Stand Up To Cancer with YouTube. This live streamed fundraising event built around social talent began in 2015, and returned in 2016 with a ‘1000 Hours of Fundraising’ campaign. Over 120 content creators took part including Zoella, Dan and Phil, Joe and Caspar, Chanel Ambrose and Oli White. #StandUpwithYT trended 5 times over 6 weeks, and achieved over 5 million video views, with over 45 pieces of content on creators’ channels.
