Rhys started his career in the legal profession with Shell moving to his first media role with BLM in 2000; this set Rhys on course to be at the forefront of Digital advertising in the UK. Following a relocation from London to the North of England, Rhys set up MediaCom North’s Digital division attracting clients such as MBNA and JD Sports. In 2004 Rhys moved back to London, staying with MediaCom and heading up the Digital division. Search marketing was in its infancy at this time (2004) and Rhys paved the way managing. Search accounts for clients such as Egg, Boots and Masterfoods. Rhys’ insightful use of technology blended with “media” planner buyer skills and experience; meant that clients like Egg secured first mover advantage in fiercely competitive markets. Rhys now leads the group digital media offering in the UK and specializes in helping global clients build performance marketing campaigns across search, biddable media and VOD channels. Rhys sits on the Search Council for the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), advising on and helping to set industry policy on Search.
