Hear the story behind the first ever live stream fundraising event held on YouTube, which was part of Cancer Research UK’s wider Stand Up To Cancer campaign in partnership with Channel 4. Working in partnership with Google, this event built around social talent began in 2015, and returned in 2016 with a ‘1000 Hours of Fundraising’ campaign. Over 120 content creators took part including Zoella, Dan and Phil, Joe and Caspar, Chanel Ambrose and Oli White. #StandUpwithYT trended 5 times over 6 weeks, and achieved over 5 million video views, with over 45 pieces of content on creators’ channels.
